I have read 3500 year-old myths where a jealous goddess* kills a king's** son*** because she wanted his magical hunting bow.

This has not been a predominantly male thing since at least the Mid-Late Bronze Age.

I am not convinced. I am not saying women are never evil. The ones screwing over entire nations seem to be predominantly men. Hitler, Stalin, Putin, Trump, Bolsonaro, Nigel Farage, you get the types.

I heard someone summarize it this way. If women were in charge, there would be no world wars, however there would be many countries that no longer talk to each other.

I used to work in a company with mostly men, now I work in a place where men are a minority. It is a different world. The egos are tuned down by an order of magnitude. (there are exceptions of course)

It made me realise, not only women have "trouble with their hormones" .

Of course, if the topic during lunch is "husbands", you may want to sit at a different table.

The best way to make vaccines great again:
  • tell people there is a rare ingredient in it. Some wild flower that only blooms once every 10 years near the top of Mount everest.
  • to attract magas: Add something controversial that disgusts reasonable people. PFAS, dangerous concentration of vitamin A, ivermectim, chlorine
  • Make it terribly expensive
  • Make sure there is a shortage and spread images of people queueing up to get it.
  • do a massive campaign explaining this vaccine is bad
  • do not use the name vaccine, call it an upgrade.
  • mandate the use of the cheap regular vaccine, make it free. Show images of democrats getting the ordinary vaccine.
  • rehire government employees with the extra income from the weird upgrade injection.

As a healthcare professional from outside the USA, I continue to look on in horror at what you guys are (democratically) doing to yourselves - I know it's not what the Ars crowd would have chosen.

We would never have been able to run an actual clinical trial like this, we never would have been allowed to from an ethical perspective, and morally it would be horrendous.

There are a lot of people watching the data roll in with a rapt fascination though of course - this is invaluable scientific gold that we never would have found a way to obtain without this situation.

I hope at least there is some comfort from the idiocy generating valuable information that we can take forward to improve public health in the future, and elsewhere where access to vaccines is externally limit for example, rather than a result of communities deliberately self-harming.

Has anyone considered the very real possibility that all of these people have been given the posts they've been given to create as much destruction and to literally cause as much death as they possibly can?

Stochastic terror. Its purpose is not to reshape the world. It’s to reshape you.

To break your hope. So you’ll submit yourself, willingly, to their Control. To make you defeat yourself.

Abusers don’t win by abusing you. They win by convincing you to apologize for it.

Understand them:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_violence_in_the_United_States

https://sosviolenceconjugale.ca/en/...nce-used-by-abusers-in-intimate-relationships

https://www.choosingtherapy.com/narcissistic-abuse

And understand yourself, and what they want you to make of your self:

https://askccllc.com/enablers-of-abuse-dont-be-a-flying-monkey-by-joanna-knopf/

Your blind panicking fear serves their agenda. But managed focused repurposed fear is your tool, that works for you. Keeps you alive, keeps you sharp, powers you forward.

Deep breath. Stop panicking. Stop fixating on each fresh daily insult: what they want you to do. All of that is inevitable now, already done. Document everything, for inquiries and trial, and Move On.

See your objective, where you need to be, 18 months from now. 11/3/2026.

See what waypoints you need to hit to meet your target. Organize. Strategize. Action.

And, don’t let them divert you. No matter what they do—especially as you make clear they are losing their Control over you. Narcissistic extinction bursts are nothing new. You can, must, willpower through.

Each daily atrocity is only noise. You can’t stop those any more—you had your chance, for 60 years, and you blew that. Now you have 18 months to make up for it. The only positive function of all the suffering the scum will cause is to power your own resolve—the 75 million of you who tried and failed last year, doing your democratic minimum duty. And the 80 million who didn’t, who you must now recruit to the cause. Look out for each other, and unify as One.

Ignore completely the 77 million MAGA that begin howling when Kmart Rouge eats its own. Not even to gloat. Not your roadmap. Not your problem. Not in your equation at all. Save your empathy for those who earn it. Your job now is to do your job as democratic citizens, and Never. Stop.

2 days now. Your first Voight-Kampff test: Good human. Or Good German.

Your choice.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. There is an enormous amount of naivete, childlessness, and gaslighting going on here. We are way past the time to realize that violence is the only solution at this point. To even debate it is to be a co-murderer of these children.

Violence is rarely the solution. I have observed that it is quite often a precipitate.

Leaders at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ordered staff this week not to release their experts’ assessment that found the risk of catching measles is high in areas near outbreaks where vaccination rates are lagging, according to internal records reviewed by ProPublica.

I felt ill when I read this.

Sounds like their is a "cheapness" epidemic in the United States and parents don't want to spend money getting their kids vaccinated at the doctors office. If they don't have health care, it's all out of pocket
Vaccines are still affordable, especially since cod liver oil isn't exactly free.

Trump has nuclear launch codes. If, for the sake of argument, we assume he is not a man of sound mind, then one day you and your loved ones can start dying from radiation sickness, which is very nasty experience. If this is the case, then I sincerly hope you have good ideas about how to keep Trump from destroying everyone while being as pure as Mahatma Gandhi. No irony.

This administration's policies on vaccines is a deliberate act of violence on us all. Biological warfare is a crime against humanity. Self-defense is arguably a moral imperative in this case.

Just to be clear. The above statement , although correct, is massively misleading.

Vitamin A neither prevents or helps to cure measles. It has zero effect on the virus.

What vitamin A does is prevent serious vitamin A deficiency, which can occur in people with measles who are already somewhat vitamin A deficient.

But in the developed world vitamin A deficiency is close to non-existent so in this country, Vitamin A will be of no benefit for a case of measles.
They don’t care. They were told there would be no fact checking, and that their ignorance is just as valid as your so-called “science”

The one where I have yet to see anyone say "...oh! but we could do this which would lead to that! And of course they definitely will need to listen and obey to the thing that were going to do ...".

All I see is name calling and ignorance and/or denial. Proper discourse can lead to a solution but yet there's none of that.

If I'm so fatalistic, start addressing my points. How about I call you narcissistic. Cause you seem to think your opinion is right and only your opinion or those that agree with you.
That's not a definition.

I got absolutely no sympathy left for Americans. If they die because they're unvaccinated i say , let em die. They voted for this shit , they voted to turn the clocks back 200 years , let em deal with it. When they wake up and get rid of their government , Trump and Musk and Kennedy and Vance and and and , and join back the civilised world their roadmap to becoming a great nation will be long , tortuous and hard because they destroyed the very institutions it needs in order to come back from the total complete darkness in which they now find themselves in. It's appaling to us , Canadians , to see the choices the Americans make and how they backup the dismantling of their society and their return to the stone age but it's their call. They voted for this , if they die of totally preventable illnesses , let em die. That's their choice. I got no sympathy left for Americans. They choose their path , let em deal with it. Not our problem.

You're right, but please tell me what your gut feeling is about, say, the average Russian? And at least THEY have the excuse that they've been in exteemely unfavorable circumstances to turn this around, or clearly show a desire to do so,for more than 2 decades, already.

Just saying that there's no escaping The Good Guys are going to end up be identified with the Trump Administration. At least until there's a shitton more, and more visible, mass resistance like civil disobedience. Or more "American Style" consequences...

I think you need to grow the fuck up yourself. I am neither nihilistic nor fatalistic. All I see is this great echo chamber of circle jerks. All this denial is just burying your heads in the ground. I'm pretty flabbergasted as to all this denial of reality.

1. All cards have been or are being stacked in the current administration's favor. Their ideals will last for years to come.

2. This current administration does not respect the rule of law. And who exactly is going to do anything about it? The judges that are being doxxed? Or all the other judges and the administration that is the part of the problem?

3. Do you believe vaccination rates are going to go up suddenly? Have you seen the latest messaging from the CDC? Have you seen who is chairing that and what he believes in?

4. Have you ever tried changing an anti-vaxxers mind or a MAGA? Its a pretty frustrating experience.

5. How do you think you actually have a say in this matter? How will you have a say? Do a coup? Somehow hold some emergency elections? All you can do is mitigate your risks like moving to an area that is highly vaccinated. Or be extreme in your interactions or lack thereof. Because the current government is going to help.

So then tell me in your naive viewpoint how you have any power to change the current system. For at least until after 2026, you need to realize none of us have ANY power cause of the above points. You can only hope the midterm elections can do begin to do something and only after the elected officials take office.
Man, imagine being a cowardly, whiny asshole and thinking of makes you better than everyone else.

But I get it. It's easier to give up when you tell yourself it makes you smarter than everyone else. It's a great excuse.

What exactly does your stance accomplish? Even if you're right, why shouldn't we try to do something?

I don't walk around condemning the average Russian. Their government sucks ass and there's not a whole lot they can do about it.

And if you look around the world, I'm not seeing any answers to the far right. Canada was on track to elect their own far right when Trump came along and reminded them of how fucking stupid that would be. The UK is in similar straights, Starmer was viewed as worthless until he got to stand next to Trump and remind everyone what worthless actually looks like. Cripes, the Tories kicked the British economy in the goolies with Brexit, how they have support beyond Farage and his drinking buddies should be a national embarrassment. Neither France, nor Germany, have come up with any plan to deal with their far right. It's probably just a matter of time before we see fascist governments in both countries.

So tell me, just what the ever living fuck is the US supposed to do?

Wow crazy, the guy that makes money from vaccine hesitancy getting put in charge of the national health agency leads to the national health agency promoting vaccine hesitancy?
I’m shocked! Shocked I say.

Well, less shocked, and more disgusted this feckless piece of shit was allowed anywhere near a position of health authority.

Goddamn it America, maybe the guy with worm holes in his brain from eating road kill wasn’t the best choice for fucking Health fucking Secretary.

He’s going to get the CDC to skew that vaccine = autism study so hard, and he’s going to get the CDC to have their official position be that vaccines cause autism and millions are going to be killed or maimed from preventable diseases because he wants to make a few million dollars.

I really, really hate that that’s our future.
For years, the RW whined about "lawyers sue over nonsense wah wah". Propaganda of course.

Now .... they back a lawyer who flagrantly sues over nonsense.

I don’t know what “radical transparency” is supposed to mean, but judging by this and Musk’s actions, it seems to be “hide everything that doesn’t support our agenda, and make up stupid stuff to say instead”. And the Trump voters apparently just eat it up.

But in this case, I’m surprised Trump likes it - he’s a self-proclaimed germaphobe and it would seem he wouldn’t want to be around the people most likely to follow the anti-health recommendations.
No doubt he's been reassured by his spiritual advisor, Paula White, that his wealth and re-election assure him of God's favor and he is therefore under God's protection and can't get sick from those ordinary scourges that afflict poor people God doesn't like.

1. All cards have been or are being stacked in the current administration's favor. Their ideals will last for years to come.

All true. Fails to point out what it should: This is already inevitable. It cannot be stopped; it can only be reversed at some point in a future. Or not.

You are dead right about this: circle jerking. All the wailing and rending of cloths. All the #IAmVerySmart dickwaving. All the gleeful fantasies in anticipation their self-inflicted death and suffering.

Bunch of highly-intelligent problem solvers, being useless. Because now in their lives, for the first time, is a problem they cannot solve on their own. Which plays not to their technical strengths but to their complacent weaknesses. That demands Joined-Up Thoughts to counter.

2. This current administration does not respect the rule of law. And who exactly is going to do anything about it? The judges that are being doxxed? Or all the other judges and the administration that is the part of the problem?

English Law has survived kings before. It was invented to break kings of their absolute power. Airstrip One’s one good invention.

Still only as useful, as honest, as unflinching as The People. The buck still starts with you.

3. Do you believe vaccination rates are going to go up suddenly? Have you seen the latest messaging from the CDC? Have you seen who is chairing that and what he believes in?

Everybody knows. Everybody’s waving their hands over it.

It’s not that they can’t believe it is happening, it’s that they still don’t want to accept its inevitable implications: 1. The CDC is already dead (no doubt FDA too), and 2. This guilt is all their own: that they enabled all this to happen, by not doing enough to halt it before.

It is easy to cry “This is terrible!” No shit, Sherlocks. Thank you for pointing that out. Over one hundred years of US building—institutions for good, laws written with the hard-paid blood of your once countrymen—all detonated in one. But you did it. Now use those big brains to plot a course—your course—to undo it. You will have to rebuild from the ground. So? Another price you must pay for your lack of eternal vigilance. And that will only happen years from now, if you get straight your gameplan for Now.

4. Have you ever tried changing an anti-vaxxers mind or a MAGA? Its a pretty frustrating experience.

Don’t. Like the Mormon missionaries, knocking your door to raise you from your bed in a temper, their goal is to bind themselves together, insular, closed, self-righteous. So they are stronger, tighter, and you are all worn out. By engaging, you feed their persecution complex. They want you to do that. Attacking them (and every challenge is an unwarranted, unjustified, extremist attack on the narcissist ego) justifies their responses—after all, they only defend themselves. You give them permission to escalate.

Took me years, reading and commenting on the medblogs, to figure this out myself. (I am a very slow learner.) I no longer read any medblogs. It wasn’t the antivaxxers that drove me off (every dog has fleas). It was because medical hosts and supporters enthusiastic to feed them they want: attention.

Anti-vaxxers, MAGA, the Kmart Rouge want you to engage them. Need you to engage them. Because they are addicts, and your life is their drug. Cut them off, utterly, and do not re-engage when they bait you. Else they make you more like them: their toxicity’s infectious, and a bottomless sump.

Engage with each other: 160 million of you. You don’t need to engage the abusers to achieve your goals. You’ll never turn them; not your job. Treat them as the damage they are and work clean around. You have the sheer numbers available. Every minute you are looking at MAGA is a minute you’re not organizing yourselves.

5. How do you think you actually have a say in this matter? How will you have a say? Do a coup? Somehow hold some emergency elections?

You start at the bottom and build up, and do not stop. There are no quick, easy fixes. Every single vote that exists, you get your people out to vote. Not just to win, to prove to yourselves you are willing to do it. All these huge protests in Turkey aren’t to change Erdogan’s mind. They’re the People proving to each other they have enough strength to throw him out. No-one gets permission to shrug and give up.

All you can do is mitigate your risks like moving to an area that is highly vaccinated. Or be extreme in your interactions or lack thereof.

Bollocks. Everyone here is old enough to have had their shots. (If you aren’t sure, get yourself tested if you can afford it.) Make sure your kids are up to date on theirs. You will ride the disease and disease perverts out. Once again, use this time to raise an army together. Do that right, your side has the sheer numbers to push through your agenda: kicking all the bastards out.

So then tell me in your naive viewpoint how you have any power to change the current system. For at least until after 2026, you need to realize none of us have ANY power cause of the above points.

Both right and wrong. You have no power to stop it right now: you’re 160 million shell-shocked idiots, standing alone, wringing hands and still saying “This is terrible! If only someone could stop it.”

18 months to US midterms. 18 months to build your army and win your first skirmishes: local elections, from school board upwards. Good practice. Good foundation. Good for reminding you that you do have [some] power. Use it slowly, methodically, to take more.

You can only hope the midterm elections can do begin to do something and only after the elected officials take office.

Y’all can hope, hope, hope, all day long. If that’s your masterplan, just give up now: make yourselves Good Germans, the best, biglyest, and pray your face is last.

Nothing dumber than smart people. Educate yourselves. And start slogging.

Wisconsin Judicial Election, 4/1/2025. This Tuesday. Your first test. Will you, The People, stand up for your democracy? Or fold for the fascists?

Go feed the orange chucklefuck his own April Fools. This world is counting on you.
